Pushed Back, About to Fall

Series: Summer Psalter

July 04, 2010 | David Crosby
Passage: Psalms 118:1-4

Today is the birthday of these United States, the day 55 brave men signed the Declaration of Independence, pledging their lives, and their fortunes, and their sacred honor. They "declared" the independence of the 13 original colonies. It would take years of war to make that declaration a reality.

God rescues the weak, and God rescued those brave men and women who defied the king and his armies to establish our nation as independent and self-governing. "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes" (Psalm 118:9).
