God is at work and I can’t believe I get to be part of it!
We are in an exciting time in the life of our church. There has been a lot said about our “Inspired to Grow” campaign and the capital improvements that need to be done to our facility. We have had several meetings explaining our expansion and the monetary need to fund it. Most recently we have challenged some of our church members to make a three-year commitment over and above their normal tithes and offerings, to start the funding of this campaign. But before anyone made their commitment they were urged to pray, asking God what they should do. 2 Corinthians 9:7-8 says, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work”.
To kick off our “Inspired to Grow” campaign, we have challenged some of our members to prayerfully make their commitment early. We are calling this our Pacesetter group and we will be announcing their total cumulative commitment on April 23.
When Kay and I moved to New Orleans we were drawn to this church through the love that we felt and the church’s active involvement in the city, sharing the love of Christ and the gift of His salvation. To continue the growth of our ministry we are challenging ourselves to earnestly pray what we should give and then make a commitment.
God is at work and we want to be part of it.
